Six months after doing. Colour no longer pink happy to say.

My boat does not live in the water but rather on its trailer under the carport. Saves me quite a lot of money in annual maintenance and mooring fees that way. Since this was always my plan when I built it I didn’t bother with antifouling the hull bottoms. This wasn’t a major problem provided I didn’t leave her in the water for more than a fortnight at a time. Even after this time she was starting to grow ‘hair’. I left her in for three weeks once and little hard lumps (barnacles I think) appeared as well.

SAVE HISTORIC SIOUX FROM THE WRECKER!

      Details

I’m about to deliberately wreck a boat!

I have had in my care for the past five years a beautifully built Athol Walter built Sioux open ocean racing boat. She is well known to Tasmanians, especially, and in very good structural condition all Huon planked, Nanni 2 cylinder barely used 13hp diesel, built in Geeveston and launched Circa 1963. She on the register of historic Tasmanian Ships.

I have tried many times and at some expense to find her a good home. I can no longer afford to keep her.

I want 5000 for her as is here in Adelaide. That doesn’t even cover my mooring and insurance costs.

If I don’t get a buyer by January 15, 2020 I will be forced to wreck her and sell off her components. Selling the ballast (about 3K) selling her motor (about 5K). Other fittings bits and pieces. Huon Pine from hull (about 1K).

If you want to know more about her please contact me ASAP.

      I’m dead serious about this.

Refer StrayDog website for more details on Sioux and several other excellent boats, including NIS 5.5, NIS 7, Iain Oughtred Fulmar balanced lug yawl, several putt putt launches and much more for sale.
